Employers continue to face rising healthcare costs, frustrated employees, and limited visibility into what is actually driving plan performance. For many organizations, the traditional renewal process has become too reactive and does not always result in a health plan that works well for employees or the employer.

This panel discussion will explore how HR and benefits leaders can think differently about health plan strategy, employee access, pharmacy costs, vendor alignment, and plan governance. Panelists will share practical perspectives from primary care, pharmacy, health plan strategy, and employer leadership.

The discussion is designed to help HR leaders better understand the core levers available inside a health plan and how thoughtful plan design, better access points, and active vendor management can improve affordability, employee experience, and overall plan performance.

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

  • Identify common reasons traditional health plans may not work effectively for employees or employers.
  • Understand key drivers of health plan costs, including access to care, pharmacy spend, plan design, and vendor arrangements.
  • Evaluate alternative strategies that may improve healthcare access, affordability, and employee experience.
  • Recognize how primary care, pharmacy navigation, and other targeted solutions can support a broader health plan strategy.
  • Apply practical questions HR leaders can use when reviewing renewals, vendor proposals, and plan performance.
