AHRMA Call for Speakers

The Austin Human Resource Management Association (AHRMA) is accepting proposals from Speakers who wish to present in 2018 at our annual conference and at various monthly meetings.

About AHRMA

The Austin Human Resource Management Association (AHRMA) is a not-for-profit association of over 800 human resource professionals in the greater Austin area representing more than 500 businesses. Formed in 1950, AHRMA is a top chapter of the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and has been awarded Superior Merit Awards for the past several years as well as the prestigious Pinnacle Award.  AHRMA is the premier association driving the Human Resource profession to a level that is critical to organizational success. We develop professionals and provide opportunities to contribute to each other, our organization, and our communities.

Who will attend Conference?

Approximately 300-350 Human Resource Professionals attend AHRMA's Annual Conference, representing more than 200 area businesses.  In addition to Conference attendees, 60 additional businesses attend. Speakers are promoted on the Conference website as well as all Chapter functions, newsletters, blogs, and social media.

Who will attend Monthly Meetings?

Attendances at monthly meetings include breakout sessions with 40-75 in attendance and upwards of 200 for the featured lunch presentations.

Speaker Selection Guidelines

AHRMA does not offer a fee for Conference or Meeting Speakers. The size of, and decision-making authority of the audience and membership, provide an outstanding opportunity for speakers to increase their visibility and establish valuable contacts within the Central Texas HR community.

AHRMA may consider some reimbursement for travel expenses for Speakers presenting content for more than 4 hours.

Presentations are reviewed by the Co-Vice Presidents of Conference and Programs committees and are evaluated based on proposed topic, relevance, and overall quality of content and relatedness to the HR profession, originality, and educational value, as well as Presenter’s professional speaking skills and references.  It is AHRMA’s intent to submit all presentations to the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) to achieve strategic or general credit for the benefit of attendees. AHRMA will work with all Speakers to obtain the necessary information to submit presentations for credit.
