AHRMA and Texas SHRM are happy to partner with WorkSTEPS, an Austin employer and national pre-employment functional testing company, to bring you their Workplace Law & Legislative Update. WorkSTEPS has partnered with our friends at Jackson Lewis to provide their always popular “rapid-fire” style of presentation (i.e. a whole lot of information in a short amount of time) to discuss the latest employment law issues, trends and recent case law affecting employers today. Our program will also focus on absence and disability management, work health and work safety and attendance will award both PDC’s for SHRM and continuing education credits for HRCI. We will also have a very special guest, Clint Emerson - Retired Navy SEAL and New York Times Bestselling Author providing our keynote session. Clint spent twenty years conducting special ops all over the world while attached to SEAL Teams (including the elite SEAL Team SIX) and the National Security Agency (NSA). He is the Founding Partner of Escape the Wolf, a company that specializes in crisis management, workplace violence, cyber threat and pandemic preparation/response planning as well as educational and leadership sessions for small to large corporations. Clint has been featured in publications such as Texas Monthly and the Wall Street Journal and is often sought out for public speaking engagements on topics including corporate security, crisis management, personal security, travel security, 100 Deadly Skills, leadership and teamwork.
But it’s NOT ALL business…Before we get down to the business of learning, we will open our event the afternoon before on Thursday, 5/17 at 4:00pm with a welcome reception and social event at Topgolf in Austin. We will have cocktails, food and several golf bays available exclusively to our group. Please join us for a fun evening of Topgolf and to meet our speakers as they will be joining us as well.
Cost: The registration fee is $99 and covers the social/welcome event at Topgolf as well as Friday’s day of educational programming and breakfast and lunch. $50 of your registration fee will be donated to the SHRM Foundation – please be sure to select that you are an AHRMA member during the registration process.
