AHRMA Committees

One of the most rewarding aspects of belonging to AHRMA is participating in a committee. And a great way to show your support! There are many committees to choose from as listed below.

Executive Committee

Career Development Committee

The Career Development Committee Vice President coordinates several committees who are each under their own Chairperson — Credentialing, University and College Relations, and Career Services. The Career Development (Job and Resume, Mentoring) Committee acts as a liaison between members seeking employment and employers who have available human resources positions and maintains appropriate communications between all members participating in the Resume Bank. The Mentoring Chairperson coordinates efforts between senior HR executives and those in the human resource management profession seeking coaching as they progress their skills and careers.

Credentialing Committee
The Credentialing Committee promotes the benefits of professional certification through the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), plans and conducts study groups, serves as a process liaison and advisor to members seeking test application study materials and resources, and coordinates an annual recognition event for newly certified members.

University and College Relations Committee
The University and College Committee coordinates AHRMA’s educational activities and partnerships with area universities and colleges to develop future HR professionals, student chapters, student competitions, and scholarships. The committee serves as an advisor to local student chapters and acts as liaison between AHRMA and the student chapters.

Mentoring Committee
This program offers an outstanding opportunity for the more experienced HR professional to give back to our profession by sharing his/her knowledge and expertise with other professionals. It is also designed to be a resource for those less experienced professionals to gain guidance, support, and advice regarding the challenges that one might encounter during the normal business day. Registration deadline for the 2010 program has passed. If you are currently involved in a mentoring relationship with another AHRMA member, you may join the 2010 mentoring program until March 24. Please provide information about you and your mentoring partner on this formClick here for program information.
