The Programs Committee shall develop, schedule and manage the delivery of programs, workshops and seminars for the regular and special meetings of the Association.

Our Mission

The mission of the Programs Committee is to provide high quality programs that inform, educate and advance Human Resource Professionals while striving to maintain a diverse offering of programming that will appeal to all of the membership.

Objective

Provide HRCI credits at monthly meetings and assist committees in programming events.

Goals

  • Increase the HRCI credits available at monthly meetings
  • Increase strategic HRCI credits available at monthly meetings
  • Sponsor 2 Symposiums of Learning outside of regular monthly meetings
  • Create new sponsorship opportunities that would appeal to new partners
  • Streamline program evaluation process

Committee Volunteer Opportunities

The Programs Committee has a number of opportunities open for volunteers that want to be very active in AHRMA, or can commit to 1 to 2 hours a month. This is a committee that welcomes creativity.

  • Facilities Logistics - Works with all venues to arrange details and room setup, selects menus, orders and arranges for all audio-visual needs, finalizes reservation numbers, arranges for additional tables for sponsors, and ensures all logistics needs are met.
  • Registration - Works with volunteers and the AHRMA office to ensure that the registration process is complete, registration table staffed for each monthly meeting, and name badges are made. Greets and checks in all guests, issues receipts, places flyers and information on all guests chairs.
  • HRCI Pre-Approval - Coordinates and submits all programs for pre-approval through HRCI. After programs are approved, coordinates the distribution of certificates.
  • Publicity - Works with the Marketing and Public Relations Committee to publicize programs. Submits newsletter articles and program write ups, submits internet postings of programs to outside sites, submits program to the AHRMA Blog, sends emails to other interested organizations.
  • Program Evaluations - Collects and compiles program evaluation for each monthly session. Includes printing and distributing forms prior to each session and collecting form after session.
  • Meeting Sponsors - Work with the AHRMA office and Sponsor Coordinator to recruit monthly meeting and table sponsors. May assist and collaborate with Annual Conference Committee. Includes recruiting new sponsors, greeting and assisting sponsor on day of meeting, writing thank you notes after the event.
  • Speakers - This committee leads in the program development area, including themes, speaker search and selection, researching topical ideas for program content. Includes being a Speaker Host that introduces, greets, and is the main contact for speakers, selects speakers gifts, and writes thank you notes.
  • Benefits Blitz - This committee organizes and coordinates a monthly meeting covering the latest trends and impact in the benefits world. Includes researching and contacting potential presenters, meeting day coordinators, blog submission throughout the year on new trends.
  • Ad Hoc Committees - Currently under development to include blogging committee, symposium committee, member feedback surveys.

  • Monthly Meeting Programs - Monthly Meeting Programs are organized to provide high quality programs that inform, educate and advance Human Resource Professionals, providing opportunities to attain HRCI credits for maintaining HR Certification while striving to maintain a diverse offering of programming that will appeal to all AHRMA members. 
  • Diversity Day Annual Program - The Diversity Day Program is devoted to providing programs and resources supporting diversity initiatives as a strategic component in the individual and organizational success of our members and includes diversity related professional development sessions in the morning and afternoon, as well as a luncheon speaker that will speak on diversity related topics. 
  • Workforce Readiness Day Annual Program - To promote workforce readiness as a strategic component to the individual and organizational success of our members. The event includes workforce readiness related professional development sessions in the morning and afternoon, as well as a luncheon speaker who speaks on a workforce readiness related topic .
  • Benefitz Blitz Annual Program - Benefits Blitz is an Annual Program covering the latest trends and resources new to the benefits world, including benefits related professional development sessions in the morning and afternoon, as well as a luncheon speaker who speaks on a benefits related topic, and a full array of products and services on display for viewing by AHRMA members.
