Conference Committee

The Conference Committee is responsible for all activities related to the production of the AHRMA Annual Conference. The Annual Conference shall reflect the professional development, networking, and informational needs of a diverse Association. The Chairperson(s) of this Committee shall be appointed by the Vice President(s) of Conference who shall oversee the activities of this Committee.

The mission of the Conference Committee is to produce an annual event that promotes the Human Resources profession and provides opportunities for continuous education for HR professionals.



The objective is the underlying theme for the Committee’s focus for the current year. This is set during the annual strategy session.



Ø  Provide valuable, educational resources to HR professionals and those who support the profession.

Ø  Promote local businesses who work with and support the field of Human Resources.

Ø  Increase the number of registrants of both attendees and exhibitors year-after-year.



Ø  Co-Vice President(s) – Responsible for the coordination of all activities related to the production of the AHRMA Annual Conference. Works in collaboration for the coordination of all activities related to the production of the Conference.

Ø  Logistics Committee Chair – Responsible for creating the menu for the event; including breakfast, lunch, snacks, and happy hour for the entire run of Conference.

Ø  Theme/Decorations Chair – Will play a big role in the design of the venue, sign designs and placement, decorations, booth layout and locations to enhance Conference theme. Will be responsible for coordinating with Marketing/Registration Chair for appropriate and timely advertising through the AHRMA website and associated AHRMA social media outlets.

Ø  Marketing/Registration Chair – Responsible for attracting sponsorships from local businesses and ensuring their participation is a positive experience. This position will also assist in the creation of the tote bags, attendee badges, and various customer service issues leading up to and throughout Conference. In conjunction with the AHRMA Management office, will be responsible for managing the registration portion of the event. This will include responding to emails and speaking with registrants on a regular basis to answer questions, collect payments, and promote and encourage participation in Conference.

Ø  Speaker Coordinator Chair – Responsible for seeking out and recruiting the best educational, instructional, and motivational speakers in the business! This position will assist in the development of the session topics and the speakers that will teach each of them. Identifying and landing a Key Note Speaker who is engaging and promotes the Conference theme will be a primary task. Will be responsible for obtaining speaker photos, bios, contact information, etc. for Conference program.
